新美街sketch Xing Mei St, Tainan, Taiwan

Xing Mei St., Tainan, Taiwan, one of my favourite areas in this city.


A shop owner was watching a local television channel while I was sketching. I had listened through a singing show (for amateurs), and an episode of Taiwanese soap opera by the time I finished my work. Kind of made me think of the time with grandmother though.

Outdoor sketching is very challenging for me. It takes a lot of techniques to determine the scene, and to get the every shapes in right position. I simply haven't get familiar with these skills yet. Besides, there are a lot of distraction: a lot of people, a lot of cars, scooters, the heat, and noise.

Anyway, I think I can overcome the shyness and unease if I try to do this more. In fact, I have decided to attend an outdoor sketching event on 28th December. Better start practising hard now.

練習寫生第一號成果，新美街一帶，感謝CW偷偷傳授嘉強的墨水技法。

畫畫的同時，旁邊店鋪老闆正在看電視，畫完話的那時我已經聽完了一集"我是美猴王"(業餘歌唱者的歌唱秀)和戲說台灣，不禁讓我想到小時候在外婆家玩玩具，外婆在一旁看電視的情景。

寫生容易令我感到挫敗，決定入鏡的場景或者在大量的物件中取得正確的形狀和比例都是很難的，對於我這樣的初學者來說更是如此。另外還有許多室內畫畫不會遇到的情況，比方說大量的路人、車、炎熱的天氣、施工噪音等等，種種原因讓我原本對在外面畫畫有點抗拒。

雖然如此，但我覺得寫生本身是一個很好的認識、融入環境的方式，希望多畫幾次之後就部會害羞或不自在了。這次報名了12月28日的寫生活動，現在開始要好好練習了，來吧! 打開畫醜也不怕被看、擋在路旁也別害羞的開關!
